Well, next month was supposed to be the month when we started fertility drugs (most likely Clomid). Supposed to...as in should be. So, what changed?
Several things, all financial. A big mistake was made in reviewing our financial situation. We're doing okay, and have been sticking to our tight budget (well, for the most part anyways). But, we're not able to save as much money as we were planning to. Then it came time to do our taxes...and to make a long story short, we ended up owing this year. There went more debt and savings plans. So we took a long, hard look at our situation...we started a plan to be out of debt within 3 years. We started setting aside a small bit of money every week to re-build our savings - for emergency purchases, a too tight week, and for the future (house, baby, etc). In doing so, we realized with very heavy hearts that it was just not a financially responsible thing to do, intentionally bringing a child in when we're barely making ends meet with just the two of us.
So, our next goal is September...I have to go for a yearly anyway, and that should give us enough time to save money and we will re-evaluate at that time.
I'll still try and post on here once in a while, and of course, when we start anything.
